Finalmente vencí el miedo (bueno, en verdad Pablo me ladilló jaja) hasta que me inscribí en la Feria de Artesanías de ATLAPA. Que si tenía culillo? por supuesto! Los años anteriores mi mamá ha dicho "pobrecitos algunos que tienen la mesa llena porque no vendieron mucho". Cuando estás ahí todo pasa como por oleadas. Un momento estás solo, no hay nadie, de repente viene un montón de gente a preguntar pero nadie compra, de repente todo el mundo compra al mismo tiempo y de repente estás solo de nuevo. El clásico estrés es "van a querer comprar?". Descubrí que el que quiere algo no pone peros y lo compra. Fue una experiencia increíble. Primero coordinar el stand, conseguir las cosas, corriendo para poder tenerlo listo, y sobrevivir 5 días.
Las mejores anécdotas son de las personas que me compraron. Mi compradora más pequeña fue una niña como de 5 años que quería un anillo de botones. Por suerte eran ajustables pero lo tuve que achicar tanto que me dio miedo de que se dañara, al final todo bien, le quedó perfecto, ella enseño su manito a sus abuelas y todas se fueron felices. Otro día llegó una pareja de extranjeros super buena gente, la chica se iba con una cartera hasta que vio que otra señora estaba mirando otra que le había gustado. Entonces compró las 2 jaja. Otra chica vino por un bolso que vio pero fue a recorrer los otros puestos primero, cuando regresó ya la habían comprado y se fue triste. Al rato llega el esposo y le compró una para llevarle de sorpresa y me dice "si no le gusta la puedo cambiar por otra?", le dije que por supuesto que sí. Nunca volvió, parece que le gustó! y así hay más historias.
El comentario más lindo? "Que Dios bendiga tus manos, qué bonito trabajo haces". El último día no sabía cómo pararme o sentarme pero todo valió la pena. Conocí un montón de gente y Mushmellow salio al público y fue recibida con brazos abiertos!
So I finally conquered fear (well the truth is Pablo pushed me hehe), and I signed up for the biggest crafts fair in Panama, Feria de Artesanías at ATLAPA. Was I scared? absolutely! My mom always says when we go to a fair "poor people, look at their tables still full of stuff because sales aren't good". When you're there, everything changes by the minute, you're alone, then you're sorrounded by people asking about you're products but no one's buying, then everyone's buying, then you're alone again, it's really funny. The classic fear is wether people are gonna like your stuff, will they buy? I found out that when someone really wants something, they don't ask too much, they just get it. It was an incredible experience. First getting the stand ready, then sewing like crazy and then surviving 5 days of madness.
The best stories are from the people who bought something. My youngest customer was a 5 year old girl who wanted a button ring. Good thing I was able to adjust the size to her tiny finger, I was scared I was gonna break the ring. So, she smiled, showed her hand to her grandmothers and everyone left happy. Then I met a foreign couple, the girl was taking one bag until she saw a lady inspecting another one she liked, then she decided to take both! After that another woman came asking for a bag she saw earlier but someone else bought. She left a little sad, and her husband came back, bought one for her and asked me if he could change it in case she didn't like it. He never came back, so I think she must have loved it. And I have more stories like that.
The most beautiful comment of all "may God bless your hands for the beautiful work you do". The last day I didn't know how to sit or stand or anything, but it was worth it. I met a lot of amazing people and Mushmellow went public and was received with open arms!

Me alegra mucho que hayas superado todos los miedos y que hayas tenido una bonita experiencia en la feria, yo mandé a mi mamá y mi hermana a ver tu stand,y me dijeron que seguro me gustaba todo, qué lástima que esté tan lejos... La próxima vez que vaya a Panamá tendré que ir a ver tus creaciones, y yo para ese entonces te podré enseñar algunas mias que están en proceso, (eso será a partir de enero...)
Veo que utilizas algunas telas de Ikea, consigues algunas telas que te gusten en Panamá?, y otra pregunta qué máquina tienes? si no es mucha indiscreción.

Bueno, acá en Panamá no consigo mucho pero aprovecho los descuentos de Importadora Selecta y Decoré x ejemplo, otras las compro cuando salgo de viaje. Uso una Singer, ahorita no me acuerdo el modelo pero tiene un montón de puntadas, es bastante fácil de usar, hay modelos más pro, cuando quieras me mandas lo que haces!
